But rather than let criticism affect him, the filmmaker often chooses to look at life with humour and grace. Recently, he shared a heartwarming moment that revealed how even within the safety of his home, he's not immune to sharp critique—from his own children.

In a recent video posted online, Karan shared a candid exchange with his twins, Yash and Roohi, on the occasion of his birthday. When he asked them why he didn’t receive any presents, Roohi was quick to defend herself, proudly showcasing an origami flower she had crafted as a gift. Yash, on the other hand, offered warm hugs and kisses in place of material gifts. But the innocence ended there.

When Karan pressed further, asking Yash what he planned to give next year, the little boy didn’t hold back. He candidly suggested that his father needed a new wardrobe. Roohi joined in, saying they both felt he should stop taking selfies. Karan, taken aback but trying to play along, found himself laughing awkwardly—until Yash delivered one final blow, asking him to stop making “that face,” referring to Karan’s trademark pout.

Amused and mock-defeated, Karan jokingly asked why he even needed anyone else to criticize him when he had such brutally honest kids at home. He later captioned the video calling them his “in-house trolls,” turning what could’ve been a moment of embarrassment into a display of self-deprecating humour and affection.

Meanwhile, Karan was recently seen at the 78th Cannes International Film Festival, where he proudly represented his production venture Homebound. The film, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, stars Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa in pivotal roles. Notably, the project boasts an impressive line-up of producers, including Somen Mishra, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese. Homebound received a positive reception at the prestigious event, further cementing Karan’s global influence as a producer.

Looking Ahead: Projects in the Pipeline

Though his last production, Kesari 2—starring Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan—did not perform well at the box office despite favorable reviews, Karan is far from slowing down. His upcoming slate includes the Punjabi film Akaal, a sequel titled Dhadak 2 featuring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi, and a romantic drama titled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
