The Pokémon Company International has officially revealed the release date for the highly anticipated Pokémon Legends: Z-A, along with new gameplay details, exclusive merchandise, and the date for this summer’s Pokémon Presents showcase.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A Launches October 16, 2025
Get ready, Trainers — Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will launch on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Preorders begin on Thursday, June 5 via the Nintendo eShop.
Players who purchase the game (digital or physical) on Nintendo Switch will have the option to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition via a paid upgrade pack, available on both the Nintendo eShop and My Nintendo Store.
The official cover art was also revealed, showcasing the game’s protagonists alongside their partner Pokémon, squaring off against a Mega-Evolved Pokémon under the neon lights of Lumiose City.
What to Expect in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Breaking new ground for the franchise, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set entirely in Lumiose City and combines rich RPG storytelling with real-time battle mechanics. The game promises an immersive, city-centric journey where the bonds between Pokémon and humans shape the future of the metropolis.
Mega Evolution Merch Drops at Pokémon Center
To celebrate the upcoming game, Pokémon Center has launched a new line of Mega Evolution–themed merchandise. Starting today, fans can pick up:
Giant pins featuring Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y
