WrestleMania 42 will no longer take place in New Orleans in 2026, as previously announced. According to reports, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation has confirmed that the event has been postponed to a future, yet-to-be-determined date.

The original announcement came during a WWE SmackDown segment in February, when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed New Orleans as the host city for the 2026 edition of WWE’s flagship event.

As of now, no alternative venue for WrestleMania 42 has been confirmed.

According to Wrestlenomics, a wrestling-focused news outlet, New Orleans will instead host WWE’s Money in the Bank premium live event in 2026.

In a statement, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation said: “The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership, which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money In The Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania — which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year.”

This would have marked the third time New Orleans hosted WrestleMania.

The city first hosted WrestleMania 30, remembered for Daniel Bryan’s triumphant rise as WWE World Champion and The Undertaker’s iconic Streak ending at the hands of Brock Lesnar.

WrestleMania 34 followed, highlighted by Ronda Rousey’s WWE debut and a main event clash between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

    WrestleMania 42 Expectations?

Despite the location change, expectations remain high for WrestleMania 42, which could feature blockbuster matchups:

Roman Reigns vs. The Rock – A long-rumored family showdown that fans hope will finally come to fruition as Reigns nears the latter stage of his WWE career.

Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk – A high-stakes battle for the WWE Championship.

Bianca Belair vs. Jade Cargill – With Cargill’s rising momentum, this potential match could headline the women’s division.

Becky Lynch vs. Bayley – A continuation of their rivalry, possibly with championship implications post-WrestleMania 41.

The Usos vs. The Lucha Bros – A dream tag team match featuring elite in-ring talent.

Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre – A power-packed contest that could showcase Fatu’s emergence as a top-tier star.

Bron Breakker vs. Jey Uso – A clash for the World Heavyweight Championship, potentially fueled by Paul Heyman’s influence, elevating Breakker’s status.
