
A limited series focusing on the life and work of pop icon Madonna is in the early stages of development. The global sensation has joined forces with OTT giant Netflix and producer-director Shawn Levy for the special project. However, this is unrelated to the previous efforts to produce a feature film on the legendary singer.
Earlier, a biopic under Universal Pictures was being developed to showcase Madonna's life on the screen. However, the project got scrapped in early 2023. Back then, Julia Garner was billed as the top choice to play Madonna in the Universal Pictures film.
It is also unclear which actor will be cast as the pop sensation in the project. Also, it noted that it would be too soon to speculate whether Madonna herself will be involved in the writing for the limited series or not.

During that time, insiders told Variety that the singer "remains committed" to portray her life in a film "one day".
The veteran singer had contributed to the writing of two draft copies of the script as well. Last year, Madonna had dropped a hint through social media that suggested her return to working on the film, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
He is also the director of the 2024 hit Deadpool & Wolverine, besides being among the producers of the film. His production company, 21 Laps, has an exclusive TV overall deal at Netflix.
