Kash Patel was interviewed on Fox News on Wednesday. People on social media made fun of him because he was sitting in a chair that looked way too big for him. One user on X joked, “Fox News, Why did you put Kash Patel in such a high chair? He looks tiny!”

Another person named Evan Kapitansky replied, “No way this wasn't intentional.” The original user added, “Surely other chairs were available in the building??” A third critic said, “Who thought it was a good idea to put Kash Patel in this chair? He looks ridiculous”, according to reports.

The big chair distracted people from the actual interview. In the interview, Patel said his agency would be open and honest about the investigation into the assassination attempt on Donald Trump last summer.

He said, “I don’t know that there’s more to know, but you’re going to know everything we know.” Patel added they take threats against the president seriously and are working to give the public a clearer picture. He said they’re going through the files to find out what really happened and if there were any connections, as per the report by Independent.

But most people online ignored what he said and focused on how he looked in the chair. One X user said, “The optics of Kash Patel seated on a high chair across Bret Baier. How tall is Kash? Kash looks like a kid in a high chair.”

Drew Harwell, a tech reporter at The Washington Post, wrote on BlueSky, “Serious issues discussed during this segment so I'm sorry, there's nothing funny about FBI Director Kash Patel sitting atop a high chair like a big boy, kicking his feet lackadaisically”, as per reports.

Bradford Peterson added, “Whoever did the advance work for this Kash Patel interview is about to find themselves with a one-way ticket to Guantanamo.” During the interview, Patel also criticized former FBI Director James Comey. He said, “I won’t be lectured on how to run the FBI by that man.”

Comey had posted a picture of seashells on a beach spelling “86 47” on Instagram. Some people thought that was a secret message calling for violence against Trump, who is the 47th president. “86” can also mean kicking someone out of a bar or removing something from a menu.

Comey later deleted the post and said, “Even if I think it’s crazy, I don’t want to be associated with violence of any kind.” Patel said on Fox that Comey’s post led to “copycat” threats. He said Comey is a private citizen and can post about seashells and crayons, but he thinks it still sends the wrong message.

Patel asked, “Do you know how many copycats we’ve had to investigate because of that beachside venture from a former director?” He also said agents had to stop working on child predator, drug, and terror cases to follow up on threats inspired by the post.

Patel added that people now think threatening the president is a joke because they saw Comey do something similar. He said, “That’s what I’m having to deal with every single day, because he thought it was funny to go out there make a political statement”, as mentioned in the report by Independent.
