
The strikes, which targeted nine terror sites including strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke, were carried out with precision by the Indian Army and Air Force using advanced weaponry.
Officials said the strikes were “focused, measured and non-escalatory,” with no Pakistani military installations targeted. The operation was reportedly aimed at neutralising top leadership of terror groups involved in planning cross-border attacks.

Congress
The principal opposition party offered unequivocal support to the armed forces, hailing the precision of the operation and calling for national unity.Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, wrote on X:
"Proud of our Armed Forces. Jai Hind!"
Pawan Khera, senior Congress spokesperson, added:
"We are proud of our Army. If someone threatens Indian citizens, they will meet the same fate. Our Army has proven that again. On the night of April 22, we (Congress) said we would stand with the government. The country stands united."
Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress president and LoP in Rajya Sabha, applauded the armed forces and called for national solidarity:
"Since the day of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian National Congress has categorically stood with the Armed Forces and the Government to take any decisive action against cross-border terror."
"India has an unflinching National Policy against all forms of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and PoK. We applaud the courage of our Armed Forces."
Shiv Sena (UBT)
Uddhav Thackeray’s faction of the Shiv Sena also backed the Army’s actions, praising the soldiers' bravery."Salute to the bravery of Indian soldiers!" read a post from the party’s official X handle.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)
The AAP extended full support to the armed forces and lauded the success of Operation Sindoor.Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief, said:
"We are proud of the Indian Army and our brave soldiers. 140 crore Indians stand with the Indian Army in this fight against terrorism. We are all united. Jai Hind!"
Atishi, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, said:
"Congratulations to the Indian Army on the success of Operation Sindoor. The entire country stands with the Indian Army in this fight against terrorism."
Regional Parties: Andhra Pradesh
N. Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh CM, hailed the strike, reposting the Army's message and writing "Jai Hind."Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, opposition leader in Andhra Pradesh, called it a "decisive response" and added:
"During such times, such inevitable actions reflect the nation's unwavering strength in safeguarding its sovereignty and protecting its citizens. All of us stand by you."
Regional Parties: Bihar
In Bihar, parties cutting across ideological lines voiced support.Tejashwi Yadav, RJD leader and LoP in Bihar Assembly, said:
"Long live Hindustan! Long live the Indian Army! Jai Hind... The Indian Army has always protected the wombs of mothers and the vermilion (Sindoor) on their foreheads."
"We believe in truth, non-violence, and peace. But if our unity, integrity, and sovereignty are attacked, we know how to respond."
Vijay Kumar Sinha, Bihar Deputy CM and BJP leader, said
"The day Pahalgam terror attack took place, it was decided that Pakistan's terrorists would no longer be spared. Today, India has struck hard at nine hideouts of terrorists in Pakistan and PoK through Operation Sindoor. This is the response of a 56-inch chest! Jai Hind!"
Operation Sindoor: India Army's response to Pak-backed terrorism
Operation Sindoor was launched in the early hours of Wednesday by Indian forces as a measured and precise retaliation for the April Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians, including one Nepali citizen.
The operation struck nine terror sites in Pakistan and PoJK, aiming at high-ranking operatives of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Officials emphasized that while India demonstrated restraint, the strikes were a clear message of accountability and deterrence. Power outages were reported in parts of Pakistan, and no military installations were hit—highlighting the calibrated nature of the action.
