PIB Fact Check, the fake news verification arm of Press Information Bureau, has disproved false claims of attacks on Indian military assets, disrupted civilian services, Pakistan attacks on Indian infrastructure and similar disinforming posts appearing on social media in the wake of Indian Army's Operation Sindoor earlier this week. Several posts by malicious actors have mushroomed on social media platforms making false claims amid the rising tensions between the neighbouring countries using anything from old, unrelated video clips to video games sequences.
Jammu air base safe, no suicide attack
PIB Fact Check busted posts claiming explosions at Jammu Air Force base, damage to an Indian Army post, and a fidayeen attack on Indian Army.
The explosions claimed to have rocked Jammu Air Force base were old images of blasts at Kabul airport in August 2021.
As for the video of Pakistani army destroying a Srinagar post has been called out by PIB Fact Check as fake and staged, claiming to have affected a non-existent Indian Army unit.
The fact checking agency also refuted claims of fidayeen, or suicide bombing, attack on Army brigade in Rajouri region of Jammy and Kashmir.
A video showing barrage of rockets launched by Pakistan against India has been identified by PIB Fact Check as a clip from a video game that has been doing the rounds for the past three years.
A July 2021 video of a tanker blast in Dubai being circulated as that of a mishap at Gujarat's Hazira post has also been flagged by PIB Fact Check as fake.

Airports open, ATM active
A post claiming entry to airports across India has been blocked amid armed escalation between India and Pakistan has been called out by PIB Fact Check as false as no such order has been passed by the government. While some airports have been closed for civil flight operations after notice to airmen (NOTAM) directive, flight operations at rest of the airports are running as usual.
The agency also highlighted a WhatsApp post claiming that ATMs are closed for 2–3 days due to cyberattack from Pakistan. The post asked people not to transact money online, and warned against a malware-infested video named 'Dance of the Hillary'. While PIB Fact Check said the message is fake and ATMs are working normally, it did not make any specific claims about the virus-carrying video file.
