Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:07AM

Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 2.08%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 1.31%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 0.81%), MOIL Ltd.(up 0.79%) and Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 0.42%) were among the top gainers.

20 Microns Ltd.(down 2.20%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 1.50%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 1.14%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 1.11%), NMDC Ltd.(down 1.10%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 0.93%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 0.60%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 0.58%) and Coal India Ltd.(down 0.58%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 119.16 points down at 24882.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 368.71 points at 81807.74 at around 11:07AM.

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 2.42%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.55%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 0.52%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.45%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.37%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 0.31%), Trent Ltd.(up 0.24%), State Bank of India(up 0.23%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(up 0.16%) and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.16%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 2.31%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.77%), NTPC Ltd.(down 1.46%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.05%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.02%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.01%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.0%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 0.97%), Eternal Ltd.(down 0.91%) and JSW Steel Ltd.(down 0.91%) were trading in the red.
