Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.13% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:30AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Canara Bank(up 2.06 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.07 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.95 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 3.21 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.47 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.76 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.57 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.35 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.13 per cent at 55282.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 56.45 points at 25005.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 228.35 points at 82302.39.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel, YES Bank, JSW Infrastructure and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Wanbury Ltd, Paras Defence, Mazagon Dock Ship, ARSS Infra and AXISCADES Engg Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Wendt India, Career Point, Chembond Chem and Godha Cabcon & Insul hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
