'Can’t see our country being disrespected…': Cong slams Modi over Trump’s claim on stopping conflict
According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, at the request of President Donald Trump, Indian PM Modi and US President spoke over a phone call and the conversation lasted approximately 35 minutes. On the call, PM Modi firmly stated that India does not and will never accept mediation. However, a few hours later, Donald Trump reiterated his claims of stopping conflict between India and Pakistan. Reacting sharply, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said, "The PM spoke on the phone (to US President Trump) and the government said that the PM gave a befitting reply (to President Trump). But a few hours later, Trump, for the 15th time, says that we stopped the war (India-Pakistan tension) and hyphenates Narendra Modi to Asim Munir.
