Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Thursday's session.

Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd.(up 6.48%), Bohra Industries Ltd.(up 4.98%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.08%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(up 1.74%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 1.39%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 1.22%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(up 0.85%), National Fertilizers Ltd.(up 0.63%), Sikko Industries Ltd.(up 0.49%) and Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 0.45%) stood among the top gainers.

Rama Phosphates Ltd.(down 5.01%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(down 3.57%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.(down 2.12%), Aries Agro Ltd.(down 1.55%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(down 1.40%), Agro Phos India Ltd.(down 1.08%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd.(down 0.68%), Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.(down 0.53%), Madras Fertilizers Ltd.(down 0.45%) and Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd.(down 0.03%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 203.75 points down at 24609.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 644.64 points at 80951.99.

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.96%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.53%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.49%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 0.47%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.3%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 0.13%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(up 0.11%) and Jio Financial Services Ltd.(up 0.08%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 2.82%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.74%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.04%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 2.03%), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.99%), Trent Ltd.(down 1.87%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 1.79%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.78%), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.61%) and ITC Ltd.(down 1.6%) closed in the red.
